The Summer Creative Practice Cohort

The Summer Coaching Cohort

Gentle Momentum for the Season Ahead

June 1st – August 31st

As the seasons shift and the days grow longer, writers usually fall into one of two camps.

Some look at the open expanse of summer and decide this is the season they will write for four hours every day and finally finish their book. Others look at the shifting schedules, the vacations, and the general chaos of the months ahead, and surrender their writing routines before June even begins.

Both approaches usually lead to the same result: frustration and a stalled manuscript by August.

If you want to actually make progress this summer, the secret isn't forcing a massive, rigid schedule, nor is it completely letting go. The secret is building a rhythm that actually fits the season. It is about shrinking the requirement, honoring a restless mind, and finding momentum in small, deliberate currents.

This summer, let’s build a sustainable writing practice together.

How We Will Work Together

From June through August, I am working closely with a small group of writers to protect their creative time, untangle their narratives, and build a rhythm that works alongside real life.

When you join the Summer Cohort, you receive:

  • Bi-Weekly Group Calls: We meet every other week. This rhythm provides enough space to actually do the writing between our sessions, while keeping you consistently accountable and connected to a community.

  • Bi-Weekly Assignments: Targeted, specific work designed to keep you moving forward. We focus on the very next step to keep the narrative from feeling overwhelming.

  • Unlimited Email Access: When you hit a wall on a Tuesday afternoon, you don't have to wait for the next call. You have direct access to me via email to talk through plot holes, creative friction, or mindset blocks as they happen.

  • The "Carry On" Plan: We won't just write for the summer and abruptly stop. We will close the cohort by building a customized, actionable roadmap so you know exactly how to carry your momentum into the fall.

Who This Is For

This cohort is designed for writers who:

  • Struggle with the "all or nothing" approach to drafting and want to learn how to make progress in smaller windows of time.

  • Have restless, busy minds that chafe against rigid, hour-long writing blocks.

  • Crave gentle accountability, structure, and direct editorial support.

  • Want to end the summer with a significantly larger word count than they started with.
