This morning, I am up before 7am. Red lentil soup needs to go in the crock pot. Student essays and stories need to be read. Coffee . . . always the coffee first – this morning from a bright red mug that my cousin brought me because it matches my cabinets.
In this hour, the farm is just easing out of the deep breaths of sleep. I hear birds – blue birds, cardinals, titmouses (titmice?) on the feeder out back, and the daffodils on the west-facing slope seem to curve their yellow spins just a little taller.
This is writing time.
So I write. Just a few words. For you. To share the blessing of this morning.
May you find all the words you need today. May their stretch their necks and curve their arms to embrace you. May you forget the list of what must be done for just a few minutes. May you slip into that place where words breath, deep and long.
By the way, if you’d like to know more about the goings-on at God’s Whisper Farm, you can follow my farm blog. I’d love to see you there, too.
