This week, I’ve been thinking a lot about where ideas come from. Why do some of us want to paint or compose or write? Why do some of us revel in photography or architecture or the abstractness of math?
Each day, when I sit down to write, I am surprised to see what comes forth from my own mind. Sometimes I feel like I have just written down something that seems to have from somewhere beyond me. I’m sure you know this experience.
So when I came on Amy Tan’s TED talk on creativity, I was fascinated by her theories of how we make “something from nothing.” Thus, I wanted to share it with you and encourage you to take 20 minutes and watch it.
So what do you think? Where does creativity come from? Where does your creativity come from specifically?
Also, who knew Amy Tan was this funny?
