I am blessed to be part of a family of readers. My dad has a huge basket of books behind his arm chair. My mom spent an hour or more in bed every night reading mystery after mystery. My brother reads books on his phone and talks to me about Audible when he visits.
So it’s not surprising that whenever I have a few spare minutes in my day, it’s to a book I turn to fill the time. Because I like to grab as many of those minutes in words as I can, I tend to keep a book in every room. (Yep, even the bathroom; there’s great reading time there.)
Currently, here’s what I’ve got going on:
Bedroom – Silver Sparrow by Tayari Jones
Upstairs Bathroom – Stewards of History by Caryl Johnston
Downstairs Bathroom – The Warmth of Other Sons by Isabel Wilkerson
Office – Wind in the Box by Terrance Hayes and Dear Master by Randall Miller
Kitchen – Buffy the Vampire Slayer Tales: Volume 2
It’s like a special gift when I walk in any room and see one of these great books waiting for me.
Plus, you’d be surprised how much you can read in the time it takes a pot of coffee to brew.
So what are you reading? Where do you read? When?
