It’s been a laid-back day. Spent some time helping a friend’s mom out with “decluttering.” Did a little tutoring. And watched hours of TV – Clean House and Rescue Me. Once in a while, days like this are really lovely.
But to be honest, one of the things I love most about summer is to sit by a fire under a summer sky and talk. Or lay in my bed with the fan blowing and a book in my hands. Or walking through the night air with someone whose company is never wrong just talking and thinking.
Something about summer makes me long for the community of relationship. Maybe it’s the longer days or the heat that makes everything slow down. I don’t love summer like I love fall, but the languid talks that come with it, the hours to read . . . . those are things I do love.
