So it’s a little before 5am here, and my mom and I – being of the same ilk – woke up super early with excitement about our yard sale. We’re sitting here in the dark on my couch, eating free apple fritters from Dunkin’ Donuts (thanks, ladies), and trying to not wake up my friend Sarah who is still blissfully dozing upstairs. And I thought – hey, I can write a post, and Mom can help. So here are my mom’s book recommendations for this still-dark Saturday.
Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell. Mom says, “It’s a refreshing look at Christianity.”
The Great Courses Lectures, especially anything by Father Koterski or Robert Greenburg.
Ellis Peters’ “Brother Cadfael Books” – “for the beautiful language,” speaks Mother.
Anybody read any of these? If so, what did you think of them? Are you and my mom of the same spirit? If so, what else would you recommend?
Happy Saturday. Wish us luck on our yard sale. . . updates later.
