So today, I’m having a good day – granted I’ve only been up for a half-hour but it’s good so far.
My friend Vanessa and I are having a great gossipy time via email; I won a book from Booking Mama; I’m meeting my friend Kristy for breakfast (better post fast); and I finished reading John Harwood’s Ghost Writer last night. (It’s a good book structurally – interwoven stories that are all gripping in themselves. However, the ending is a bit predictable, albeit complicated, and abrupt. I will say it’s entertaining and worth a read if you’re into ghost stories.)
Plus, I had a great ninety-minute phone conversation with one of my best friends in the world, Melissa, the woman who takes Jane Smiley to the beach for light reading. I started sewing again, crocheting and cross stitch, which makes me happy.
And plans look good for today, too. After breakfast, I’m getting a much-needed haircut and then heading out to see if I can pick up Aslan from the vet. (I saw her yesterday, and while a very chubby and mostly shaved cat is not the most attractive sight, it was nice to spend some time with her.) Then, I’m going to work on an interview I’m doing. Reading – on to Dan Kennedy now – and sewing and just a nice evening ahead.
It’s a good day so far. And my daffodils look lovely.
