I asked almost everyone I know (sorry if I left you out) to give me recommendations for some of their favorite books. Here’s what I got:
Katie Kickle likes – Barbara Kingsolver’s Animal, Vegetable, MiracleCover of Kingsolver's Animal, Vegetable, Miracle; Melissa Bank’s Girls’ Guide to Hunting and FishingCover of Bank's Girls Guide to Hunting and Fishing and Mark Doty’s Dog Years Cover of Doty's Dog Years
Natalie Speakman recommends – Into Thin Air by Jon KrakauerCover of Krakauer's Into Thin Air. She says, “Jon Krakauer is a survivor of one of the worst disasters to befall those who endeavor to conquer Mount Everest. Wonderful and exciting tale of adventure that, I feel, parallels some of life’s toughest moments.”
Into the Wild, also by Krakauer, and Pilgrim at Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard. Speakman says she likes this theme of “survivors.”
I would recommend – Impossible Saints by Michele Roberts. It takes fictional saints, who seem very real, and gives us a new spin on what it was/is like to live as a saintly woman. Reminds me a bit of Angela Carter. Cover of Roberts' Impossible Saints

More recommendations to come. Happy reading.
